Christmas Babies

I have been blessed with two little baby boys who have made their arrival just days before Christmas. Many hear me complain of the craziness that is prepping for holidays and birthdays.....but I love my Christmas babies.

I cannot help but reflect of the Savior's mother, Mary. I would not want to be traveling on a donkey when I was that far along. I came within hours of spending Christmas Day in the hospital, would have if I didn't have a doctor who thought I was tough enough to stick out recovery at home surrounded by family. I am sure Mary in her nesting state was not thrilled with the idea of giving birth in a stable and not having a proper bed for her or her new baby but some how none of that ends up mattering as you rock your little one. A sweet spirit who has been entrusted to my care by a loving Heavenly Father. A child that I hope I can teach all the many important things to.

I have loved nothing more than being trapped in with my boys this winter. Snuggled in our own little world, watching movies, reading stories, rocking, and singing.

Tanner loves pajama days and sometimes I get lucky and two boys take a nap together but instead of getting stuff done I sit and watch them sleep hoping in that moment time would stop.

I have a dear friend who shared with me her goal for striving to enjoy the moment she is in and where she is at in life because if she keeps looking ahead to what comes next she may miss the now. What a smart friend I have. This is something I struggle with being a very task oriented person but I hope to be better....I know before I know it my boys will be big and life will be speeding on by and I will miss the middle of the night feedings, little people laundry, my back seat driver, reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and The Night Before Christmas (even when it isn't Christmas time), singing Let It Go and other Frozen favorites while doing dishes or riding in the car. Life is crazy, busy, and hard sometimes but boy is it beautiful and fun!

Now here is to warm weather, Spring time, and new adventures! Please warm up soon world!
