Shoes

Last night Nate was part of a motorcycle escort group that escorts the local WWII Veterans to the bus depot where they then board a bus for their annual trip to Washington DC. He was home late and had left his big steel-toed boots out. As I have mentioned before Tanner loves shoes and I found him doing this while I was making breakfast.....

A Favorite Place

Tanner has a favorite place to sit and play cars and watch the cars, trucks, and (in our town) the tractors drive by. The ottoman is where you can find Tanner with a handle full of cars throughout the day. He just loves it there.

A Trip to Utah for a Wedding

My Aunt Katie got married in March so Tanner and I used this as a perfect excuse to go to Utah and visit for the week.  It was so fun but a little too long to be gone without Nate.  Tanner was spoiled rotten with hugs, kisses, story times, playtime buddies, trips to the park, watching Eliza play ball, chocolate chip cookies, and everyones undivided attention.  He was such a good sport on the many planes we had to take (he is beyond sleeping and needs to be fully entertained) and the hours spent at wedding festivities.  He is such a trooper.

 Tanner would come get his hat and gloves when he got cold, then the sun would peak out and he would rip them off.  Such a smart boy.

Duke

For Christmas Nate's dad gave him a trip to North Carolina for a Duke vs University North Carolina basketball game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. So March 1 we headed to Durham, NC. We had a great weekend trip and as Duke fans we loved the experience of being at Cameron Indoor for the big game.

We learned a few things on our trip:
-Students line up and camp out starting four weeks before the big game. There are all these rules about how it works. If you have a minute google rules for K-Town at Duke University very fascinating. Would you have the guts to do it?
-The city of Durham is a bit sketchy so maybe stay in Raleigh or Chapel Hill.
-Dress cool. Cameron Indoor is not cooled very well considering it is an old building so sweatshirts or long sleeves even in the dead of winter would be "over dressing." They pack people in that place like sardines in a can.
-Staying in a hotel with the Black Panther Motorcycle Gang for the weekend will result in no sleep. And strange men and women knocking on your door at all hours of the night.

All in all it was a fantastic and fun trip that we will always remember.

Cars

Well there is one thing you must know about Tanner.  He loves cars, big cars, small cars, toy cars, and grown up cars.  So as the weather turned quickly to spring and I realized quickly I had no outside toys.  As I was discussing this predicament with Nate we both brought up how we loved our Little Tikes car and soon realized this would be perfect for the little boy who loves cars.

Little did I know upon purchase of the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe what lay ahead.  The thing came in a million pieces and took two days for me and Nate to get it put together.  It all turned out great tho and our little man sure loves it to pieces. Tanner tried to be helpful and would sit in the car long before we go it together.

It was finally finished on a Friday morning so Tanner had to take it for a test drive in his pajamas around the house a few times.

Tanner had a hat this winter that he enjoyed wearing.  I think he really enjoyed that he could take it on and off all by himself.
